Another Amazing Interview with a Navajo Code Talker

The student journalism group working on a documentary film about Navajo Code Talker Bill Toledo drove to Grants, New Mexico, to interview him again today (Tuesday, June 2) as part of the 2015 Navajo Oral History Project.

They left in the morning, drove three hours, interviewed Mr. Toledo and his daughter, Sharon, and drove back to the Tsaile, Arizona, campus of Diné College. The interviews went very well and the team is confident they can create a meaningful, accurate and respectful documentary about his life.

Next two photos are by Josh Averbeck.

Along the way, they collected some B-Roll footage of murals depicting respect for veterans, and specifically Code Talkers.

Thanks for staying connected to this blog and getting updated on the activities of the Winona State University and Diné College students involved in this important project.
